A very large piece which is quite powerful to the eye. Full of texture color and various ideas. She sits behind the surface of gold foil, copper metal as well as many various textures and lives purely in this toxic world full of color.

You can see a work in progress as this one evolved from a sketch and became something completely separate. The level of layers and details is obvious. There are over 300 screws glued in the right corner as layers of paint and color overlap with cuts in the paint in which represent life and stability. At the bottom left you find more screw being fed on a silver spoon. Colors mix and balance together and the word "EAT" at the top right manifests the idea that staying hungry is important and gives us more to thrive for when we are.

This piece is monumental to a very important crack in time. The stairs, as always resemble a moment where things begin to change and evolve. The nails are a symbol of an explosive experience. The strings, or rope, rather hold and connect it all together. The word "END" expresses the beginning of that period and where it all dissolves.

The Steps of Life is simultaneously one of my most personal and impactful pieces. Most people find that part of their private soul is on display through this. Many often compare their first interaction with this piece to the feeling of slowly being undressed in front of a crowd of blind onlookers. This piece and others are currently on display in my studio. The textures and stairs as always reflect the life patter. The number symbolizes life and the beginning of a new time for the artist where everything was transformed.

This Painting had many paths to where it became it’s final destination. The colors give off a rustic look and bring the outside in. The mix with Silver and copper with a pop of neon modernize the energy of the piece. As though now the stairs have entered an outside dimension.

A work in progress. This Piece is a mix of oils, electronics and mixed textures expressing a female form in the midst of the staircases. This body of work is very large in scale. In many ways it is a representation of a dream state of the process of love and life in its purest structure. The development of love is always contrasting for each individual and comes in peculiar forms depending on individual experiences.  Lust can be misinterpreted and feels similar to love, as it can be addictive behavior, as is love. The constant need for attention and the path we take to get the feeling of devotion and desire is impeccably strong within ourselves.  We are enraged and impulsive with craving which become a catalyst when we love someone . Although we might find that life becomes challenging and our easiest passage is to break what is right for ourselves we need to find the urge to correct this behavior and not look for the simplest version of correcting the problem such as escaping it. Our soulmates, whether we have one or more, are delivered to us, to put us on a path to find ourselves. This process takes away the ability to properly breathe and we make commitments to one another based on emotion and not rational thinking. Perhaps this is a good thing here too much logic is a problem in the world. Our technological advances allow us to find love in such a way, you can filter out everything possible about a person without getting to know them. In a way this is despairing and we should open our eyes to grasping more about one another before concluding that our potential soulmate is exactly what we do or do not want. Our alter ego are here forever and if they serve their purpose to heal or better ourselves, whether or not they are in so many ways imperfect, then we should see that as their own perfection and not push away anything that seems impossible. Also the most important of this is to find the love within ourselves as to never forget that our most important soul we are tending to is within each individual, so that we can be leaders of strength for the other.

This painting, although Massive and in some ways simple, has alot of texture and a color combination that will add character to any room decor. There is an abundance of life and energy and at moments too much complexity which at times, tends to calm down as the paint moves in layers to hide what is underneath the surface. The texture gives off depth to the paint as well.

Step Study is one of the earliest works of this collection and come from a sketch created almost 20 years ago, yet it touches upon some elements that continue to fascinate the artist and are somehow embedded into her work. This is a very important piece. You can see as it develops through the imagery and builds and how the work becomes three dimensional. Essentially its a simple piece but there are many layers and mediums used. Wood as the canvas with oils as the paint and Bolts that which create the explosion over the stairs that the artist so often paints. Stars are always a reflection of life and a moment in time that is passing or leading up to. There is wire at the top of the painting secured three times around the wood as a representation of, internally, holding it together. The bolts inside are an explosion occurring, with two bolts that are uniquely gold within this eruptive pattern. It may be hard to see in the image but in person the gold bolts represent two relevant subjects. The numbers 1820 are a portayal of a purposeful moment in time. As for the newspaper the subject matter is of technology and devices and how the development of a variety of social media and other technological advancements cause and effect and have changed the world at even a young age in youth as well as for those who are in adulthood. Colors are simple but true to the inner self.

An ever changing portrait of the artists Grandmother. This is about the moment before her grandmothers ability to comprehend her existence began to fade at the surface and is expressed in the work. Her Gradmother's ability to appreciate life and laughter was disappearing at this stage and all the artist can recall was at a young age a special song she used to sing. The colors of fuschia blending with other more realistic work images and abstract spaces are captured here. She looks blindly beyond the colors and the background. Everything begins with a sketch. Usually stairs are the main fascination in everything  created aside from the female form which usually is prominent as well. They represent the idea of Life and ever changing patterns. As complex as we all are inside, our lives are constantly challenged with unpredictable experiences. Even when we think we know what will happen next, life surprises us with something new to grasp.

The artist studied many life drawing classes throughout her career. Her love for the human form and incoporating it into many of her works comes from the experiences she has during these classes. Life drawing inspired the artist as you can see one three dimensionally feel their balance and weight as well as the energy they give.

During her teenage years before she studied at SVA Liza began to develop her skills early by working off imagery and objects in front of her. She was fascinated with the expression of the face as well as the balance of objects on a surface. The shoe sketch is a a great example of showing weight of an object that isn't living but is in motion.
